Pantry Details, hours, photos, information: Helping Hands Ministry of Belton

Each month, approximately 3,400 people (averaging over 9,000 times per month) are served through the client choice food pantry. It is always a priority to have not just enough food for those needing our help, but to have a good variety of healthy food items (vegetables, fruit, pasta, beans, meat, bread and produce) available each day the food pantry is open.

Clients are encouraged to come weekly to receive grocery assistance. Helping Hands Ministry believes in giving groceries weekly instead of monthly to provide more face-to-face opportunities to share the love and Gospel of Jesus with each. Depending on the family size (Single Individual, Regular, Medium, or Large Family) clients are allotted a number of canned or boxed goods of food. Clients are given an additional allotment of produce, bread, and meat items as well. Clients are given a choice of any food that is shelved for their taking, thus the food pantry is referred to as a client choice.

Helping Hands Ministry was the first pantry in Bell County to offer a client choice food pantry. The goal is to instill dignity in the lives of those who come for help as they are able to choose for themselves what food they need; giving the clients choices helps to promote independence. Annually, 6,800 clients are helped with food 105,000 times.
