Pantry Details, hours, photos, information: Interfaith Assistance Ministry

Interfaith Assistance Ministry (IAM) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization providing emergency relief to Henderson County NC, residents who are in financial crisis. IAM offers help with food, clothing, heat, rent, utilities, medication, school supplies, and other basic needs. The Food Pantry at IAM provided food for 8,594 individuals in 2012. A typical IAM Pantry order consists of enough food for three-meals-a-day for seven days, for each person in a family. The Pantry has a walk-in cooler and freezer so some perishable foods are available, as well as non-perishable foods.

There is an interview process to determine needs and eligibility. IAM coordinates assistance with other local agencies when possible to ensure clients receive the most help available and to avoid duplication of services.

IAM Hours:
Monday - Thursday
10:00am - 4:00pm
Occasionally IAM is closed for holidays or training so calling ahead is recommended but not necessary. Information about what to bring to an interview, depending on what help is needed, is available on the website or by telephone.
