Valley View Cares is a branch of SECOR, Southeast Community Outreach, a faith-based 501c3 nonprofit corporation. After seeing the tremendous need in our own corner of Douglas County, Valley View Christian Church responded by launching Valley View Cares, a free market for those in need in the greater southwest Denver area.Partner of Food Bank of the RockiesHow is Valley View Cares different from other food banks? We are different from other food banks in several ways. We are not associated with a governmental agency and therefore are not restricted in how we serve our clients. Our client experience involves a grocery store type approach to obtaining food. Also, we offer a variety of fresh food items including produce, milk, meat, and eggs.
When a person arrives at Valley View Cares to receive services, they sign in, receive a number, and complete an application. They are interviewed by a member of our team to determine their qualification to participate in our program. Once qualified, they guest will wait until their number is called at which time they are escorted by a volunteer through the Valley View Cares market.
