Pantry Details, hours, photos, information: Take and Eat Food Pantry

The pantry, located at Evergreen United Methodist Church, provides food-assistance to our hungry neighbors in eastern Chatham County, specifically the Northwood High School attendance area.

Take and Eat Food Pantry is an ecumenical endeavor which involves support from Evergreen United Methodist Church, Chatham Community Church, Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church, Holy Trinity Chatham, and Lystra Baptist Church.

Individuals and families receive enough groceries to prepare meals for approximately one week and may visit the pantry twelve times during the calendar year.

If you are in need of food please visit the pantry during a Tuesday distribution to fill out an information sheet.

You will need to provide proof of address for all adults and children residing in the household: Something current with name and street address - school records, medical bills, apartment lease, utility bill, Medicaid card, etc. Please note that we do not accept driver's licenses or "junk mail" as proof or residency. Residency verification must be updated every six months.

We will also ask you to complete a food preference sheet. The information will help us know which foods your family prefers and if there are any dietary restrictions or food allergies.
