Ebenezer United Methodist Church (EUMC) in partnership with Young Adult Missional Movement (YAMM) and United Methodist Commission on Relief (UMCOR) Global Ministries announces the re-launch of the EUMC Food Distribution Ministry.

EUMC has distributed food in the community for over 10 years on Mondays but will now shift to the 2nd and 4th Saturdays starting on April 24th. The change to Saturdays is designed to enable more families to participate on the weekend. Free and open to the public, participants will receive food (perishables and non-perishables, based upon availability), temperature checks, blood pressure screenings, in addition to health education information and resources. This will be a drive-through distribution site and requires all attendees to remain in their cars at all times. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be available for distribution, while supplies last. "To address the demand and impact of COVID 19 on the community, the people that come to our food pantry have generally had no food at home. Considering the expense of food and health care, we are providing screenings that indicate other conditions," said Pastor Sherlain Stevens. "Ebenezer is proud to be part of the solution."

Ebenezer United Methodist Church (EUMC) was founded in 1898 in the Overtown community in the City of Miami. The church relocated to the Allapattah community in 1973 and is focused on fulfilling the mission of the United Methodist Church "to make disciples for Jesus Christ the transformation of the world" through active ministries for all demographics through its food outreach program, young adult ministries, United Methodist Men, United Methodist Women, various choirs, usher boards and other missional programs. The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the not-for-profit global humanitarian aid organization of the United Methodist Church. UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters that are interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community's ability to recover on its own.Young Adult Missional Movement (YAMM) is a program of Florida Conference of the United Methodist church that provides opportunities for young adults ages 18 30 to get connected in communities throughout the state of Florida in order to receive meaningful, hands-on experience working with social justice agencies and church communities involved in social change. The focus on intentional community provides a support system while wrestling questions of meaning, purpose, and life's next steps
