What type of documentation do I need to apply for food?

Although the food bank doesn't regularly hand out food, if someone shows up with a need, they will help. As an organization that works with USDA, they will not turn anyone away. There may be some identification needed if someone wants to apply for SNAP but there is no need for documentation to receive food if they have any available.

Pantry Details, hours, photos, information: Food Bank of North Alabama

Founded in 1984 by a small, committed group of volunteers, the Food Bank of North Alabama's mission is two-fold:We feed the hungry today AND create solutions that will end hunger tomorrow.First, we provide immediate relief to residents in need of emergency food. We accomplish this mission by supplying 8 million pounds of food a year to a network of 245 food pantries, homeless shelters and children's programs in 11 counties of North Alabama. Together, we feed over 80,000 people at risk of hunger a year.Second, we address hunger's root causes through long-term, collaborative initiatives that (a) foster economic development in under served communities, (b) support local family farmers and (c) increase residents' access to healthy foods.
