Midland County Greater Works delivers food to homes of Elderly and Disabled Clients who have limited mobility but still are mobile enough to cook for themselves. Midland County Greater Works' goal is to encourage the client's independence, personal taste pallet and dignity.

MCGW provides opportunities for each of their clients to receive friendly social interactions, a chance to voice needs to the volunteers and guidance to meeting those needs through other services in the community. Many of our clients do no have anyone to check on them or help them to receive needed services. The food provided is 20-40 pounds of groceries including meat that is designed to last for 10-14 days covering the last of the month when their money is depleted.

Many of our clients have only $30-$60 for their food budget for the month.Our Income Eligibility Guidelines follow TEFAP's which is at 185% of the Federal Poverty Guideline. What this translates to is a household of 1 has to make less than $1815 a month and a family of 2 has to make less than $2456. Our program serves those over the age of 55 or those who are on disability as these demographics cannot go out and make more money. Our average client lives on about $700 a month.
