Pantry Details, hours, photos, information: Bryant Community Center

AN provides at least 5000 free meals annually to the children and parents it serves, including healthy, nutritious evening meals in its afterschool program (four evenings a week during the academic year; at Hikone and Green Baxter Court). Meals are prepared by Food Gatherers, volunteer groups (e.g. Ann Arbor Hope Church), CAN staff, and Hikone parents.

During our six-week summer camps, youth receive two healthy meals each day, when free and reduced school lunches are not available.

CAN also

coordinates food distributions with Food Gatherers (monthly at Green Baxter Court, twice monthly at Hikone);

maintains well-stocked (and well-used) food pantries, open to any resident, at any time (Green Baxter Court and Hikone)

sustains an elaborate community garden at Hikone, where a third of the families grow their own fresh vegetables each summer;

arranges with various community groups (such as the King School PTO, Allen School teachers, Harvest Mission Community Church, New Grace Apostolic Temple, and Food Gatherers) to ensure families have food for holiday celebrations.

* Important: Please call the food pantries to confirm that the hours have not changed. We do our best to provide full information and details, but food pantries often change their hours without notifying us. We do not want you to waste your time visiting a pantry that is not open.
