The Society of St. Vincent de Paul operates a food "co-op" with its 75 Conferences in South Texas through the dedication of over 2,300 Vincentians. In 2011, our Vincentians donated 203,576 hours of service and provided assistance to 1,917,131 individual cases. Emergency food, clothing, and other assistance is provided at no cost to the recipient. Our Vincentians are dedicated to their vocation for which they train extensively under The Rule and The Manual as set forth by our founders. Operation Food Pantry is run in a partnership between 75 conferences/churches and The Society of St. Vincent de Paul. In past years, such as 2011, almost two million individual cases were fulfilled by the Operation Food Pantry program. Some of what can be provided includes free or low cost emergency food boxes, work or school clothing, meals, and other assistance. Almost all of these resources are provided at no cost to qualified individuals from this food "co-op" program. The Get Up Community Center Food Pantry provides food and grocery products to more than 30,000 individuals yearly in various counties throughout Southwest Texas. In FY2014, the Get Up Community Center Food Pantry provided nearly 2.3 million pounds of food.
